Other larger towns is Nagyatád, 18 km away, which also has a thermal bath. The (even) larger towns to the west are Nagykanizsa and Kaposvár to the east, both about a 45-minute drive away.

Böhönye is situated in a beautiful green area with many forests, rivers, and farmland.
